A helping hand for a very worthwhile cause!

Egham Park School reached out to us to help with the furnishing of their new facility, and we were only too happy to help! The school is a small specialist independent provision offering an alternative educational experience for pupils in Year 7 to Year 11. The pupils of Egham Park will be placed at the school by the Local Education Authority, they are likely to have had prior negative learning experiences. Their primary area of need will be Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH). Within the school, there are just two classrooms with a maximum capacity of 10 pupils. Students will access individual learning programmes at their own pace whilst being supported by the class teacher and learning support assistant. They will be empowered to make their own study choices ( from a timetable of subjects) thus encouraging them to engage in learning . It is a fantastic chance for the pupils to positively change the outcome of their school life.

Metric supplied furnishings for the offices and classrooms totally free of charge and at short notice in order that they were able to meet their January opening date. The school was opened officially by the Mayor of Runnymede on 27th January. It was an emotional event with some of the new pupils offering their heartfelt thanks for the opportunity that the school has given them. There was both laughter and tears! The school is a truly heart-warming collaboration of locally based companies coming together to get this worthwhile venture up and running. Nicki Foster, School Principal said, “the support from the local community has been overwhelming, thank you!”

Nicki and her team will undoubtably succeed with this amazing venture and we are with them every step of the way! We wish them all the very best and look forward to hearing more about their many achievements to come.
