Metric Ladies lend a helping hand to Great Ormond Street!

As part of our ‘Helping Hands Project 2013’ our team of Metric Ladies are going to jump out of a plane! The skydiving ladies, Jane Hart, Rachel Hart and Nicole Talbot are preparing themselves for the 10,000 ft jump on 4th May by keeping their minds occupied with as many other things as possible! In the meantime though there is important fundraising to be done.
The girls have selected to do their jump for Great Ormond Street Hospital. The money they raise will be going to Great Ormond Street Hospital’s Respiratory team where they see some of the most ill patients in the hospital, from tiny babies to teenagers. The care that the team provides is world class, but the current ward is cramped and there is little space to play. Space is so restricted that there is currently not enough room for Mum or Dad to stay by the bedside.
They need to build a new Respiratory Unit so they can treat more babies and children with lung disease and serious respiratory conditions in an environment that is conducive to healing. Each bedroom will have a special area with a curtain and sofa bed where Mum or Dad can sleep overnight remaining close to their child. This will be located in their New Clinical Building which is due to open at the end of 2016.
The girls would be most grateful for any donations to this very worthy cause. You can pledge your donations on our fundraising page – https://www.justgiving.com/Metric-Ladies-Jump
Metric’s ‘Helping Hands Project 2013’ is important to us.All of our team live locally and for 43 years now we have been working with customers in the Thames Valley. This year we intend to give something back and make a difference to our local community by involving ourselves in a number of relevant charity projects. We are about to complete the office/clubhouse refurbishment for the fantastic ‘Grassroots Project’ and we are looking into a number of further campaigns. For details of our projects, or if you would like to get involved, keep a look out on our website where we will soon be launching a ‘Helping Hands Project page.
