Metric makes more room for pupils in Hounslow

IMG_7457
As part of Hounslow’s School Expansion Programme Metric have been appointed by Balfour Beatty to install all the bespoke, ff&e into ten of the area’s primary schools which have been selected for re-development.
The initiative will expand the borough’s primary schools to meet the growing demand for primary (predominately reception class) school places in Hounslow.  It is a response by the Government to projections which demonstrate that taking into account housing developments, birth data, pupil mobility and  historical school applications more forms of entry will be needed across the borough from 2015. It also represents a long term investment into the area’s educational facilities. This is not an issue singular to Hounslow and many of the London boroughs are facing a similar scenario.
The schools were selected based on demand, site suitability and manageability, they represent the first step in what will be an on-going expansion programme from primary through secondary establishments. The schools under development are as follows:
• Springwell Infant
• Springwell Junior
• Norwood Green Infant
• Norwood Green Junior
• Feltham Hill Infant
• Feltham Hill Junior
• Sparrow Farm Infant
• Sparrow Farm Junior
• Crane Park
* Grove Park
In light of the issue, space is premium and as such, under the guidance of Pick Everard, Metric have specifically designed and installed multi-functional storage walls to answer pupil and classroom demands.
We are delighted to have been selected to assist in this important initiative and are on course to have works completed in plenty time before the increased intake of pupils arrives for their first day in September.
