Moving in at The Manor!

For the last nine weeks we have been busy rehousing Kerry Foods’ personnel from Meadlake Place in Thorpe. The company took the decision to consolidate all of their departments under the one roof – their corporate headquarters at Thorpe Lea Manor.
The Manor is a truly inspirational work setting. A stunningly impressive period building arranged over 3 floors and standing in beautifully manicured grounds.
Thanks to the cooperation of Kerry’s staff and a 6 phase operation which was planned and executed with military precision we were able to complete the entire project in just 9 weeks – an operation which would usually take at least 16 weeks!
Working closely with Kerry personnel we reconfigured and redesigned the entire office plan, floor by floor, to accommodate each and every department. In order to accommodate the additional staff we steered them away from large crescent desks to the more space efficient double wave workstations arranged in a cellular office design.
Each phase of the project involved refurbishing one half of a floor whilst staff continued to work alongside in the other half. In order that staff were not disturbed we undertook much of the work out of hours. Each time a section was completed we moved the relevant department from Meadlake Place into it.
We stripped out existing and installed a new power and data infrastructure to include energy efficient LED lighting throughout the building. We created 3 new offices and incorporated themed feature walls on each floor. Throughout the project we used existing materials wherever possible.
Now that everyone is comfortably settled in at the Manor we are tasked with the full dilapidations work at Meadlake Place to return it to its original state.
Tracey Brian from Kerry Foods commented, “The Metric team were brilliant from start to finish! Each phase was precisely planned and went like clockwork meaning that we were able to meet our extremely tight deadlines on-time. A big thank you to the entire team led by Ed Harding – excellent work!”
It was a pleasure to work with Kerry Foods. With thanks to Tracey Brian and Kevin Pring for their huge contribution from start to finish. We would like to wish everybody at Kerry Foods well in their new office. We look forward to working with you again!
