Metric would like to extend a huge thank you to everybody that came to our annual golf day last week. I think that is is true to say that weather-wise it was officially the first day of Autumn but the weather most certainly didn’t seem to dampen spirits. Beautiful Harleyford Golf Club didn’t disappoint either! After a hearty breakfast we teed off in the teeming rain but by the ninth or tenth hole the sun crept out from behind the thick, grey clouds. It was a welcome sight and we completed the course in the sunshine and had dried off by the time we got back to the clubhouse. In fact we even managed to enjoy a few beers on the terrace before dinner!

Overall winner of the Barry Want Trophy this year was Gary Andrews. Second place went to Andy Reynolds and third to John Flynn. Nearest to the pin were Dave Rooney and our own Ben Roydhouse and winner of Longest Drive was Simon Cripps! Well done everybody – look forward to taking you all on again next year!
A special mention has to go to Barry Wickington for having an especially bad game! There’s always next year Barry!!
